I never could get behind this ship, and to this day I'm not sure why. I guess I always thought they'd be better as friends. I don't have a good reason though. I'm glad so many people are passionate about it!

Not my favorite ship (though I'll try anything once; Chibi Usa and Hotaru just aren't my favorite characters), but it really irritates me when everyone dog piles on those who do ship this because of the age thing. Haters gonna hate, OP, and I know there are lots of other fans out there.

Personally, I could never get behind it because Hotaru is part of the Outers, and thus, not one of Chibi-usa's senshi (hers, of course, being the Amazon Quartet). Which I know is a stupid reason, but for some reason my brain doesn't let me cross-ship between generations of senshi.

Still, it's not like this ship doesn't have fans. And I can get why people have a hard time getting past the age thing. But ship what you want, bb. :)

Haha, you totally sound like me. Though I also think part of my aversion to Hotaru/Chibi-usa is that I forever see the former as Haruka/Michiru/Setsuna's* adorable little kid and shipping her with anybody is just weird to me.

Oh, yes! I agree, there's definitely a whole idea of 'but, she's their kid!' and it's hard to imagine her ever really growing up and all four of them being ~adults.

The age thing does make me not like it, but I can see why others would. Maybe if I imagined them in their teens instead it would help, but I've never seen Stars and in S Chibiusa still looked like she had baby fat and Hotaru was around 12-14(?), so it kinda squicks me a bit.

I could totally get behind Mistress 9/Black Lady. 6: It's not the same thing at all, but still...

Hotaru was all over 14, at the oldest in the anime/manga (in Supers). In Supers S and Stars she was about what, 10-12? Not to mention, she grew rapidly to age 10-12 over the course of months, which makes her age really weird and squicky-ish. And yeah, Chibiusa may have been hundreds of years old, but she still looked 10-12 too, so.

TBH, I love Haruka/Michiru and Hotaru/Chibi-Usa. I can totally see H/CU getting together when they're older. I love how CU saves Hotaru in the anime by telling her death isn't necessary and that she has meaning when they're in the mirror hallway. I wish there were yuri fics of them. I can't pair them up unless it's gen when they're the ages they are in the pic though.
