It sounds kinda insular and would feel embarrassing to me if I did it, but I imagine it must give a thrill. What would give you more pleasure--to keep it entirely secret or to have people know you did that and say, "That's not so bad"?

Considering how many aspiring writers make TV Trope pages and create covers or character wikis for their stuff ... I think a lot of people fantasize about having a fandom. I don't think it's that embarrassing.

Unless you actually submit them, because I imagine people will notice that the fandom doesn't exist.

I think it's an awesome way of making publicity. If people are curious, they'll check it out. Though it probably works better for stuff that's published or online. But you can still use it to gauge people's reactions to your stuff.

think of it as preparation, op. incentive to get published. because i don't know about you, but if i had my own fandom i would definitely submit secrets to it, if only to troll the fuck out of it.

multidimensional trolling: do it from inside the fandom as a fan. and then do it as the author by throwing in enraging plot twists and randomly murdering popular characters
