Glad it's helping you. When I started uni, my first year was miserable and I developed insomnia so I spent way too many sleepless nights watching Disney movies. The best of luck to you. It will improve, honestly!

I wish I felt the same way. My first year of uni was amazing. Then I developed depression and it all went downhill from there. I can't wait till next year is over. I jsut want to get on with my life and move onto the next phaze. I know uni is contributing to my future career, but it just feels like I'm stuck in this horribly rut that won't end until uni is finished.

Hey there. I wish I could be of more use. I hope you've talked to someone about this, be it a doctor, family/friend or person at your university. I'd give anything to tell my 1st year self to see someone instead of thinking I was completely alone. Apologies if this sounds useless/patronising, I'm so bad at giving advice!

My second semester of college sucked ass, and Yu-Gi-Oh! did so much to help me get through it. Hang in there, OP - college does get better, especially after you've gone through the hardest part of transitioning and getting used to the changes. You do have to make an effort to meet people and get involved, but it's worth it. Good luck!

For me, it was music like People are Strange. My roomie and suitemates were total bitches--didn't clean up after themselves, borrowed my clothes and didn't return them along with other items of mine (I'm not rich at all, was there on loans, and they talked about getting money from the parents and being rich and all and yet they fucked with my stuff that I couldn't afford to replace; fuck them).

I wish I'd known at the time that I could've asked for diff. people to room with even mid-semester. I also wish I'd known that they had psych services available to students; although the number of visits you could make in a semester was a limited number. I also wish the school had been better about communicating student events to the students--like groups of like minded students to join, societies for my subject major, etc. Try looking to see if these services are available to you, OP, where you go to school.

For me it was Sailor Moon that helped me through a tough time.

Disney is great for things like this. Hopefully you'll find someone you trust to talk to as well. Some colleges have counseling options or info available, why not look into that.

I really want to like this secret, but all it does is remind me of my brother's creepy friend who has a crush on me. He used to say this to me all the time when he still lived near us, and it's freaking me out that this could be him. :(

College was the only time in my life I wrote fanfic. And the closer it got to exams/papers, the more I trolled lj into the night.

I've, uh, been out of school for a few years now and Disney has gotten me through the stress of finding an adult job (yes I realize how weird that sounds). Sometimes a girl just needs an embroidered fleece blanket with Rapunzal in the corner while she watches The Rescuers. :shrug:
