I can only thing of two possibilities.

1. You were somehow deluded that Luna was real and you could talk to her.

2. You weren't sure if she was a "real" fan or not because it was only halloween dress up.

Um... I'm sorry. I don't always think Luna is real, I guess I just got so excited and was like, "OMG, it's Luna!" I forgot she wasn't real, or something...This isn't the first time this has happened, sometimes I think I"ll see a ghost or a mermaid and I remember that they're not real... I guess that makes a moron, doesn't it? Your the first person to have said that, but it's probably true; forgetting that imaginary things are imaginary are pretty moronic, I suppose.

I'm not sure why you feel the need to aplogize to internet strangers. But you've misinterpreted me, good sir. Though looking back i can see where that would happen, I should have been more specific. But consider my first line: "and that stopped you"

I didn't call you a moron for having a geek/daydream/flakey/whatever moment.

I find you foolish because you found a girl who's almost certainly in the same fandom as yourself, who you seem to find attractive and then you stopped yourself from talking to her.

She'll totally look different now, you'll probably not find her again easily, though it's not impossible. It's still close enough that you could at least say you thought she had a bitching costume. But you obviously liked her and then backed down, and that's a damn shame son.

That said, and as some already have pointed out, I won't deny I'm a dick, I totally am.

Possibility 3. OP had a fangirl/fanboy moment and got excited at seeing his/her favorite character for a second, and then realized, most likely with a chuckle, that it was Halloween and she was just wearing a Luna costume.

Possibility 4: OP likes eccentric girls and calls the girl "irl Luna" because she reminds OP of Luna. Then OP realizes she's only dressing oddly because it's a holiday where you're supposed to dress oddly
