If you're interested in having some thoughtful discussion while safely under the veil of anon, there's two Homestuck anon memes floating around LJ. [livejournal.com profile] captchalogue's anon meme and [livejournal.com profile] mspanonmeme are both available venues for discussion. It is with trepidation that I recommend them, as they're both kind of great stinking cesspits, but there's a few folks floating around who will enjoy a good meaty discourse. (I happen to be one of 'em.)

You know, it's always been sort of on my list of Things I'd Like To Get Around To Doing Eventually to write... well, not exactly a review of Homestuck, but something more like a prospective reader's guide to Homestuck. Something that would take inventory of a lot of the storytelling and thematic issues, alongside things like art style, accessibility of the humor, social justice peeves, disability accessibility (them twitchy GIFs, mang), the author's attitude toward his work and fans, and so on as a way for non-readers to more objectively assess whether it would be worth their while to read this damn comic that's swallowed the Internet. As I continue to dawdle, though, and as benchmark updates for the comic whiz by (so long, EOA5!), the more I'm convinced that the list would consist mostly of IT'S LONG AS BALLS, SERIOUSLY IF YOU DON'T HAVE A MONTH OF YOUR LIFE TO SET ASIDE TO READ THIS THING DON'T BOTHER BECAUSE IT IS LONG AS BALLS :Y

Well, I wish you the best of luck in your endeavor, OP, and I hope to see your review pop up somewhere around the 'Net soon!

oh my god the twitchy gifs

I really want to go and smack Hussie for not putting epilepsy trigger warnings in his website

when you start reading the comic it's not obvious that those sorts of animations will pop out in the next panel
