Yeah, I love the "Meet the..." videos and gmod stuff, but I tried the actual game and couldn't get into it. (although I was playing on the console version, so maybe that was part of it.)

I can get through Portal just fine, but I fail at basically any game that has a lot of enemies that can jump out at me or attack me from behind.

I had a hard time lining up shots in Portal, so while I could describe exactly how to complete the puzzles, the logistics kept tripping me up.

Plus I walked off a lot of platforms.

I honestly just don't get any part of the whole TF2 craze. I've played the game and found it immensely boring, and the whole fandom just seems to be batshit insane. It's one of those things I just look at, tilt my head and say, "Why?"

I love the game, but it takes time to learn the ins and outs that I either don't have or I just don't have the patience to put in. The story of the world is a lot more charming than the game itself, though, I agree with you on that.

I think it's fun once in awhile to goof off in after I haven't played it for awhile. I might play it for a few days and then get bored again. It's a PUG game with no real objective. It's not everyone's cup of tea, so no worries. I honestly only get kinda annoyed when people who are in a game related fandom refuse to even try the game in the first place.

And it's okay not to like things. I won't lie, it's not for everyone, and I won't judge you. Heck, I won't judge if you come and hang out in the fandom anyway. That's cool.

I do, however, have a problem with the people who come in and make huge sweeping statements about the entire fandom. STOP HAVEING FUNN GUISE!!1!

That's because the entire fandom is batshit. Okay, maybe not. Maybe two or three people are okay, but even three is pushing it.

Whenever I see someone who makes a secret or comments against the TF2 fandom here on FS, I can always expect YOU and YOU alone to come swooping in to defend the lovely fandom.

I never see anyone else saying otherwise, other than you. You must be a BNF in it?

LOL NO, I'm not a BNF, not even close. I don't go by this name, and I barely contribute. I've written, like, one fic. But I enjoy playing the game and looking at the art and reading fics, and I've met some good friends through the fandom. Apparently this makes me a monster.

The fandom isn't the best I've ever been in by a long way, but it's a far cry from the hive of scum and villainy that all the angry anons seem to think it is.

I will admit, I don't know much about how the fandom is now. I haven't popped in much in a year or two (left shortly before the chan shifted).
But the time I spent in the tf2 fandom was wonderful. Everyone was kind hearted. Bullshit was not tolerated. We spent most of our days dancing around funny parts of the internet, reading tasty fic, and admiring well drawn art.
It taught me a lot about tact, and how to not be a weeb. All the people helped me so much with my art and gave me resources on how to improve on my own. I learned what good fic looks like. I made some very close friends.

I'm so thankful for all that I've learned from them.
