"slapping a Do Not Enter sign on someone's vag"

I lol'd. That is quite the interesting image.

On a more serious note: I don't think you have that much to be worried about. I think the majority of the adult population is sensible enough to be able to separate reality from TV shows, and I don't think showing lots of babies on TV (which in itself makes sense since it's something that's emotional and interesting for a lot of people) is going to cause a massive baby explosion.

Maybe, maybe not. An increasing amount of research (that has later gone on to be cited by National Geographic and The Economist) draws a link between a woman's education level and the number of children she has. I think women with sufficient education will be able to separate fiction from reality, but what about one whose education leaves something to be desired? I know that seeing a lot of infants in the media will necessarily be the cause of her having a larger family than average, but it could accelerate her in a direction she was bound to go and exaggerate the results.

You are right about education, and it certainly needs to be worked on.

I don't think removing babies from media is the answer at any rate. And for educated people (which we should all be) it's obviously not as much of an issue.

From a creative standpoint, removing babies from the media is impossible (even though a lot of time it's a major shark jumping move because it tends to be done wrong). I think a reduction could be helpful to serve as a model for the more impressionable women out there. It'd be interesting to see if it works in the US like it has for Brazil, where telenovelas showing female characters with small families have been cited as a factor in the nation's birthrate stabilizing.
