I agree, 100% - and with FMA as my exception, I rarely/never get into the big series, myself.
I've been looking for someone, and been disappointed to find out that no one's ever heard of that series since... Before DBZ came out.

That was my first anime ever - damn anonymous posting, I'd love to know who you are.

You are my hero! I haven't really been into anime (Fandom-wise) until the past 2-5 years, and not a person I've asked has known what that show was. I've felt so alone for so long...

I used to have a haircut like Sage's, and trying to make the analogy to people who had no clue who he was got so tiring, I stopped asking anyone if they watched it.

Actually no, I've never thought to look it up online. I look for people that know of it in person; and I tend to stay out of fandom for a lot of things. I learned my lesson with my first fandom, fandom = wank.

Though, admittedly, I'll have to look into that now. Thanks for the link, and the note. I actually hadn't put much thought into the yaoi possibilities.

Dude, we didn't *have* wank. We're quiescent these days, but ... man, it was the rise of the Gundam Wing wank next door and we were an island of tranquility.

The only thing is that we're terribly inactive. Most of us have moved on to media fandoms.
