Jesus Christ I hated the first book in that series, how many fucking times can we have the characters talk about how Irishy Irish they are and how they are so Irish they shit shamrocks and perhaps I was alone in this but the way she portrayed other pagan and wiccan religions just rubbed me the wrong way.

DEAR LORD I AM CURRENTLY READING THIS BOOK AND I HAVE THE SAME OPINION. She could have pulled out a leprechaun from nowhere and it still would have been less Irish than the main character.

OH MY GOD I KNOW. It's like Rawn discovered the glory of Ireland and her own Irish Ancestry (if she has any) and now wants to spread her joy throughout the lands it's like yeesh lady, yes it's cool simmer down now okay? Isn't there ANYTHING ELSE you want to talk about? This is a novel, presumably with a plot, not a masturbatory session on the amazingnessawesomespeicialness of the Emerald Isle.

Who's your favourite Exiles character? Mine was Sarra - personally, I don't hold out hope that she'll ever finish the series (which sucks).

I'm glad she'll never write that final book, either--and I usually love to finish a series out. But that last book annoyed me so very badly. >.>

You are so very, very right. I will never waste another cent on her crappy books. I waited for Captal's Tower for something like 5 years before I finally gave up the hope. I won't even buy things she wrote with other people, despite my love for Kate Elliott. Sorry, Kate, you should have picked a less shitty co-author.

Ahhh Melanie Rawn... The first Exiles book was so good and the second was Meh but I was hoping for the third, if only to find out Collan's true history (he was my favorite character). But I've come to the conclusion it is NEVER going to happen and it makes me sad.

As for her new stuff I can't follow it at all because I am so frustrated waiting for the last exiles book. I keep going "You wrote this CRAP while not writing the last Exiles book, screw you I am not reading or buying!" Now seeing the comments on this, I am glad I skipped it. I really get pissed off with inaccurate cultural portrayals.
