I didn't even need to ignore his thoughts to do that. One of my favorite scenes in FFVIII is when they are talking about Seifer's supposed execution, because the rest of the characters must have been so confused about Squall's outburst. I laugh my ass off every time.

Me too, that scene cracks me up. My little sister didn't get why I was laughing, but I guess she didn't see why/how Squall was such a crackpot.
