On the tiny off chance this isn't a troll... the fact that you HAVE fans and "want to tell them what you really think of them" comes off as painfully entitled and ungrateful. Like the BNFs who complain because they only got a hundred reviews on their last chapter or that they weren't ~detailed~ enough reviews. :/

eh, I couldn't honestly blame them (especially if it's someone who has especially batshit fans like Jared/Jensen/Misha) When you have certain fans who rush up to you and want you to sign the kinky photo manips they made of you and your co star or they want you to read the hardcore fetish fic they wrote about you, it's hard not to tell them that they are creepy weirdos and they need to piss off. A person can only put up with so much crazy. At least they're pretending to be nice (if this isn't a troll secret, which in all likelihood it is)

True enough. But I would hope someone who has that many fans would be well aware that the batshit crazy (while more vocal than most) aren't usually the majority.

I dunno, something about the tone of this secret just rubs me the wrong way. Maybe because it's so short/vague that it just seems like entitled whining?

If I pictured Jared making the secret it wouldn't bother me but it's almost certainly just someone who writes popular fanfic, so that's why it bugs me personally.

There are times when I want to do the same thing with my readers, OP. Most of 'em are fantastic, but there are a select few that I want nothing more than to tell them off so they would go away. I just don't want to come across as a bully or an asshole, so I stay quiet even though sometimes it's really, really hard.

Oh, op. I like that you still suck it up and decide to be neutral -or at least not an asshole- but I can't think of anything to suggest except keep on practicing your patience.

You never know if one snarky remark or insult will be taken to heart and tarnish your reputation, so better safe than sorry and just keep resisting, I guess.

Hasn't he been a dick sometimes on his formspring and so on, though? Maybe it was just bad hearsay, but I feel like I've heard he DIDN'T always "play nice" with the fans.

I think I've heard that too but I can't cite any examples off the top of my head. I always thought that when he was referencing how stupid troll romance was in HS that he was telling his fans that they too were stupid for investing so much time into it, when it wasn't supposed to be that big of a deal for the overarching plot.
