I do this, except not with character traits. I drop sneaky (well, okay, probably not-so-sneaky) references to and quotes from stuff I like into conversation (if they make sense in context, I don't go "LOLOLOL UNRELATED QUOTE" every five minutes or anything), to see if anyone I'm talking to catches it.

So far, no one other than my best friend, who knows to expect this from me, has picked up on it. However, in the town I live in right now, no one has ever heard of pretty much anything I like. I seriously had to explain what Star Wars was to one girl. So yeah, I don't have really high hopes for anyone actually getting it, I just do it on the off chance someone else in this town is feeling as alone in their nerdiness as I am.

annnd that turned from commiseration into csb. Ah well, no one will read this anyways since I posted in the morning. >:)
