While I do think the aforementioned scene is hot...this. All of this, forever.

Shane is a dick. I think he's riding the crazy train and the only way he is getting off that train is DEATH. There is really nothing whatsoever to like about this guy for me; he's incredibly two-faced, not to mention fucking annoying. Every time he opens his mouth I hear, "HEY RICK. RICK, YOU SUCK. IF I WERE IN CHARGE WE'D BE OUT OF HERE, EATING TACOS ON A BEACH SOMEWHERE WITH AN ELECTRIFIED FENCE SURROUNDING IT. LOLOL, JK JK I LOVE YOU RICK, YOU'RE MY BROTHER. Where's Lori?"

Well, I agree with everything but the last bit. I'm not sure I would want Daryl paired with anyone (awesome as he is), but if I were going to pair him with someone, it would be Carol.

But yes, exactly. Boy has bought himself what seems to be a one way ticket to death with all the shit he's been up to and done, and it'd take a lot for him to even begin to redeem himself in my eyes.

Yeah with regards to Daryl/Carol, I feel like I ship it (+Sophie) in a sort of... world ends and they're a post-apocalyptic imperfect family sort of way. I'm still not sure I really like Daryl 100% yet, but he's always been pretty unapologetic about how 'redneck' and assholish he is, but at the same time he seems to have way more of a sense of obligation to family/etc than Shane for example.

Yes. Absolutely this. Shane is quickly losing anything sympathetic he had going for him. The moment he finds out that Lori's pregnant and decides to kill Rick because, deep down, he doesn't really give a shit about Lori or Carl's feelings because he's just a possessive fuckstick (NOTE: I have not read the comics, I am just guessing) will be the moment he drops down into Complete Monster for me, but he's already close and heading down fast.

And re: your thoughts on Daryl, I agree with you almost EXACTLY. I'm not sure I ship him and Carol, but I want her to like... adopt him or something. (And, looking at secret 11, I want him to Older Brother Adopt Sophia.) If I shipped either of them with anyone, it would be each other (him and Carol, not Sophia, haha).
