IDK about the person you replied to, but for me canon = manga. Not extra interviews and other stuff that doesn't make it into the published volumes. Yes, I do think this even when the extra material is something I'd like to see in canon.

So far nothing in the manga suggests that Grell isn't a gay man who likes feminine clothes and other feminine things. No, him saying that he thinks he could (even thought he's a man) have darling Sebastian's child doesn't count, plenty of people say that without literally meaning it when they think someone is hot.

I agree with you, anon. You don't see much, "but it's not Scar, it's TAKA!!" wank on fandom_secrets when a Lion King secret gets posted. I guess extra bits of information are only valid when people feel strongly about the implications.

Because I haven't seen anything that points to Grell being trans other than wanting Sebastian's children, and then there's only one instance of him even bothering to mention wanting to be a woman and that has to do with the thing above. (of course Grell may just want to experience childbirth, which indicates nothing else)

That is not the only reference.
I have no idea how you missed the story arc where Grell was introduced. You know, the story arc in which it was explicitly stated Grell and madame Red were killing women in revenge for giving up something they couldn't have (children, depending on translation the women they murdered either chose to be sterilised or had an abortion)?

That's why Madame Red was doing it, yes. Grell said that he understands her feelings because he'd like to have a kid too, yes, but it was also strongly implied that he was screwing with Red's mind and was killing mostly for the lulz and because he was bored.

As I remember, Grell said he wanted to be a woman so he could give birth... that does not mean he's trans.
