actually I assume you're a troll but whatever

"acting feminine" is NOT a gay style, as much as there is NO stereotypical gay stuff.
Troll harder.

If you're American, Happy Thanksgiving, anon. Hopefully the turkey you have is better than this turkey of a troll attempt.

Find me ONE verified (i.e. properly linked, credible Korean language source, not made up by trolls and antis or misguided ELFs trying to prove a point) quote where he says anything about gay people. Just one.

[identity profile] van.livejournal.com 2011-11-24 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I have no idea who this is or this fandom or anything, but I can say that there is no such thing as "acting gay" and it's people who say "You must be gay because you like/do X!" that often makes straight people into homophobes. Because imagine if you were a straight man who happened to like pink shirts, unicorns and sparkley things. None of those things are male or female. Our societies have marketed them toward specific genders, but there have been times throughout history when all those things were more traditionally male interests. Liking something "feminine" or acting "gay" does not mean someone is gay (nor does it mean that a "straight acting" gay man is actually straight).

But constantly telling him that he must be gay, or questioning his sexuality because OMG HE LIKES SPARKLES HE MUST BE IN THE CLOSET is a surefire way to make a person start to hate and resent you and possibly even gay people because he just wants to be himself and he can't because everyone has to read into everything he says, does or likes, while saying he's lying about who he really is.

It's like the jealous partner constantly accusing their lover of cheating on them. If the other person never, ever cheats, but is constantly being punished for assumed cheating, the unjustly blamed person is going to start resenting the person constantly blaming them.

Maybe this guy really is gay or in the closet, or confused. It's possible. It's also possible that he's 100% straight and just likes things that aren't 21st century male things to like. All I can say is that pushing him to "come out of the closet" is quite possibly pushing him into the closet if he's actually gay.

I mean, write your slash fic if you want, and that's fine. But don't try to tinhat when you really don't know--and when it really doesn't matter and isn't any of your business.

"self-hate for himself"

Man. Do people proofread these things at all?

[identity profile] streetcake.livejournal.com 2011-11-25 12:37 am (UTC)(link)
Don't know who this guy is, but they probably find calling him gay insulting because your reasoning is "he acts feminine so he must be gay." If you think he's gay that's one thing, but it's the stereotyping that's a problem.

it's almost 3am and should be asleep, but damnit sungmin.

(Anonymous) 2011-11-25 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
Well, my dear secret-maker, I hope you're not trolling so I'll humour you. I'm also one of the people who think that Sungmin is in fact homosexual - and that he is not in the closet, but rather deep in denial as well. However, the way you worded this and the reasoning behind why you think he is gay is rather faulty, imo.

Sungmin does not generally act as a stereotypical gay man or even especially feminine at all, unless he's doing fanservice, aegyo or crossdressing. He has a soft demeanour and a rather feminine and cute face, along with the fact that he likes pink. I'll give you that.

But if you're going to call him gay, please bring up things like the tension he has had with several men, the looks he has given and shared. Open appreciation of male bodies is one of the first things that come to mind, and for looks... to quote Kangin, when they were on Intimate Note: "it really looked like you loved me". This has happened both with members from the group as well as in the same company, and then some. (Preferably do this without going into delusional shipperland, or bringing up the mini-drama series.)
Bring up the time he was on Strong Heart and talked about really liking his male co-actor from some drama he filmed, which was quickly shushed by fellow SJ-members on set, with the "Sungmin is a casanova because he knows so many girls"-story that has been told several times. Even bring up things like him having many female friends because he has an easier time bonding with girls than with men, which I've seen has been theorised either as Sungmin is a casanova or Sungmin is gay and has difficulties with being close to guys due to that, and variations thereof.

If anything, even use the video where he talks about liking the colour pink and claim it to be a metaphor for liking men or something, because the way he says it, taken out of context, does not sound as just talking about a colour. Not even to most of the people I've sent those lines to, in hope to get a neutral reaction so that I'm not just seeing things and acting delusional.

There are many, many examples of things Sungmin has done (and occasionally said) that make people suspect that he is gay. Don't just pin it down on his looks and the way he supposedly acts like a stereotypically gay man.

Lastly. He has, as far as I've seen, expressed his dislike for homosexuals one time and that in a written online questionaire from several years back that most likely was fan-created by a C-ELF. There are no sources for it, and at least among the people I know of, no one has been able to find the original in Korean.

He has not one but two popped collars. He's not gay, he's a douchebag.

[identity profile] shinyhappypanic.livejournal.com 2011-11-25 05:40 am (UTC)(link)
there's no way this isn't a troll.

[identity profile] insanenoodlyguy.livejournal.com 2011-11-25 09:01 am (UTC)(link)
He needs a good car accident. Shake him up, you know? Make him realize life is short, and that he shouldn't live it lying to himself. I AM A GOOD PERSON.

(Anonymous) 2011-11-25 01:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Are... are you referencing Daesung here? Do people actually say that kind of thing?

Either I am reading your comment completely wrong or fangirls have gotten even scarier since I left KPop fandom.

[identity profile] insanenoodlyguy.livejournal.com 2011-11-25 06:06 pm (UTC)(link)
There is no eastern pop problem that can't be solved with this. Daesung was just a path to truth.
