where do you even start with this one

With a car accident! Some necessary facial reconstruction surgery will fix up those faces.

As someone who's a professional photographer, many people close their eyes when they smile. It's not fake, it's just they way their cheeks move when they smile & it shows they are really smiling and not just faking it.

[identity profile] sapphirecrow.livejournal.com 2011-11-24 09:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Apparently the movement of eye muscles can show whether a smile is fake or not, but it doesn't really matter here because all these photos are so airbrushed and edited that you can't see any lines on their faces anyway. Besides, I just assumed that all celebrity photo smiles were fake... I mean, who could smile genuinely and happily for every single publicity photo ever??

^_^

Did I miss the memo about k-pop troll day?

[identity profile] relmneiko.livejournal.com 2011-11-24 09:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Your first problem is that you hate fakeness but you're into K-pop.

+1. I love K-Pop because of how ridiculously manufactured it is.

[identity profile] smittenlotus.livejournal.com 2011-11-24 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh snap.

(Anonymous) 2011-11-25 08:33 am (UTC)(link)
THIS. you are a great.

[identity profile] rabidsamfan.livejournal.com 2011-11-24 09:27 pm (UTC)(link)
What? If you mean that you dislike how their eyes look when they smile, then for crying out loud grow a brain. Some people's eyes just do that when they smile. Heck, my mom's eyes do that, and she's Norwegian/English American by descent (and I wish I'd gotten her cheekbones!) so it isn't limited to kpop stars by any means.

[identity profile] fungenda.livejournal.com 2011-11-24 09:36 pm (UTC)(link)
I love "eye-smiles" or "smizing" as coined by Tyra.

(Anonymous) 2011-11-24 09:41 pm (UTC)(link)
This is the internet. You are allowed to say "fuck."

(Anonymous) 2011-11-24 09:41 pm (UTC)(link)
Are you sure it's fake? I think that's just how some people's faces work.

(Anonymous) 2011-11-24 09:44 pm (UTC)(link)
k i can understand including hongki in there because he is capable of smiling without closing his eyes, he just wants to perpetuate the myth that he's not the crazy misogynistic psycho stalker ex-boyfriend type. taeyang, though? those eyes are never open

[identity profile] fickletastictot.livejournal.com 2011-11-24 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
People's eyes crinkle a bit when they smile. It's only normal, bro!

i feel ya bro

(Anonymous) 2011-11-25 12:42 am (UTC)(link)
I know. Why can't they smile sincerely like all the other pop stars around the world? :'(

[identity profile] andtheunicorn.livejournal.com 2011-11-25 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
You... You do realize that many people's eyes crinkle up when they smile, right? That someone smiling with their eyes as well as their mouth is one of the key ways to tell that someone isn't faking a smile? I can't even imagine how you would come to the conclusion that it's the other way around...

[identity profile] fierceawakening.livejournal.com 2011-11-25 03:06 am (UTC)(link)
Actually, eye scrunching is how you tell a REAL smile from a fake one...

my eyes do that when I smile and I've tried to train myself not to do it in pictures-- but generally it's a sign of a REAL smile, not a fake one. Want to see fake smiles? Look through Japanese magazines.

I always assumed kpop idols tried to avoid getting their pic taken while they were smiling like that cos they don't like their gums showing.

TROLOLOLOLOLOLOL~

It's been a few posts since there was a secret saying, "I don't get why Asians look like such-and-such." I'm pretty sure I've seen this sediment in a secret before.
