The comment you're defending included stuff like Have you ever had sex? and So uh, good for you for hating it when people talk during an intimate act?

That kinda sounds condescending to me. It's not so much they compared real to fictional life, but the fact that they expect everyone else's experience to mirror theirs and dismiss anything else as wrong or born out of ignorance.
