Maybe they should lock the group if they don't want trades, but uh, you should also maybe read the rules, or at least not get pissed off if you do something that is in violation of the rules you were too lazy to read. I have a lot of rules laid out in my communities for a reason: If you can't be bothered to read them and follow them, I automatically know you're not going to be able to post correctly or remember your lj-cut or what not. It saves me the trouble of approving journals that are going to be butt-hurt whiny problem users.
