I wonder why they picked Castiel, myself. Was it the angel of thursday/airs on thursday sort of 'joke' thing? Or did they just like the name, or...what?

I mean - i've got an awesome book that has so many angels in it it's ridiculous and i've probably only heard the names of six of them in any sort of mythology or whatever. So i gotta wonder how they stumbled across Castiel.

I have dim memories of reading at the time that it was an in-joke b/c SPN then aired on Thursdays, so they chose the angel of Thursday. Heh. I thought it always awesome to have the angel of Thursday on the show b/c I was born on a Thursday.
