As long as you know the difference, and the former isn't adversely affecting your life (to the point where you can't function in your daily life), eh. You're fine. If it is adversely affecting your life to the point where you can't function, then ignore this, and have a good long think about your options.
(Though I feel you on having that version of the Master in your head. I'd personally prefer the Master from "Deadly Assassin" over "Teh Sooound of TEH DRUMMMMMS," ha ha.)
TL;DR: Most people don't realize that everyone is a bit "strange" inside their own heads, when compared to societal "norms" enforced by TV/media/etc.
