Why is consensual incest a TRIGGER?

It can be a squick, like many other things. Not a trigger.

even if the incest mentioned is consensual, it could still trigger someone into remembering a not-so-consensual experience. Just like secrets talking about rape roleplay is marked with a trigger warning even though that is a consensual situation too

not sure if I really understand that logic considering things like stoning women and rape is perfectly normal in some countries (and so is forcing a woman to marry her rapist, lest she be executed instead). Just because it's normal doesn't mean everyone finds it to be okay

no, I just wish they had defended their position with something other than "well it's normal in other countries!". I don't care how they feel about incest, it was just the line of logic they used that threw me off

Two cousins deciding to marry one another, consensually, is completely different to women being murdered and raped and that being considered normal.

Thanks for equating my country to places that have such awful practices.

It's also still legal in many states in the USA. Don't need to go abroad for that.

(Yes, this comment assumes OP is in the US, but I don't happen to know UK/other countries' cousin marriage laws off the top of my head.)
