I find that polite explanations are frequently useless. You can bend over backwards to not lose your temper with people who say thoughtless shit, but then you'll get a smack on the wrist from somebody who thinks you should have phrased your unhappiness more nicely. They never scold the person who was an ass initially, they scold /you/ for saying /please don't say that shit. It's offensive./

Sorry if that harshes your /fun/, readers. If you want more /fun/, you could always look to the people who are offensive in the first place and their white knights, rather than the people who get tired of being shit on and then scolded for not saying /this stinks/ in a /nicer/ way.
