(Anonymous) 2011-11-26 11:41 pm (UTC)(link)Its pretty much gotten to the point where wearing trucker hats is cultural appropriation unless you come from a trucking family, and writing interracial smut scenes of any kind is being racist because its objectifying to a race just by being porn.
Kink-shaming is treated in completely random ways, with the dog-piling tendency first backing one view (liking shota-con means you're a pedophile) and then backing the opposite view with some other rant (liking shota-con means you are 99% likely to not be a pedophile and any-one who thinks it is a reason to side-eye is evil).
Also, all dog-piles are justified even if the comm's opinion went the opposite direction just a few rants ago, and anyone trying to mitigate a dog-pile or explain things to the dog-piled person is always an evil bigot, no exceptions.
All the smart people have realized the only way out: express no opinions. None. Only ask questions, recc your own fanfic, make off-topic remarks, criticise the lj-cut, link to Neil Gaiman, and cautiously agree with other commenters after it is clear those exact ideas are not going to be dogpiled.
