Don't worry, OP. It could always turn out like my last relationship in which everything seems perfect and kittens and puppies forever and if soulmates exist then this is totally that and then after a year and a half he suddenly decides "it's time to move on" even while claiming to still love you and care about you and suddenly your favorite person in the world isn't speaking to you anymore, nor in your life in any way at all except as a small box of keepsakes you're not even sure you shouldn't just throw away, and you feel clingy and oversentimental and stupid for wishing he would, even though you know that if there was ever a chance of the relationship starting up again, you could never again really believe his declarations of love, because he's already proven love doesn't count for much in his practical little world.

And if that's the case, then you can open yourself up to the "broken-hearted my lover-done-me-wrong" genre! Win-win!
