I am so excited for the Walking Dead secrets that are coming. I can almost taste the wank

(Anonymous) 2011-11-29 01:26 am (UTC)(link)
upon reflection, I probably could have chosen better wording than "taste the wank"

(Anonymous) 2011-11-29 02:10 am (UTC)(link)

I love the pipa. They make such a graceful sound.

Every time I see SOPA I just think "sopapillas" and then I get a craving for them

Also I live in Texas and contacting my senators is a waste of time

After signing a petition on that website, I received an email from Congressman John Fleming. Here's the meat of it:

Thank you for contacting me to share your views regarding legislation affecting intellectual property rights. It is a privilege to serve as your Representative in Congress. I welcome your thoughts on this important issue.

As you may know, Senator Patrick Leahy of Vermont introduced S. 968, the PROTECT IP Act on May 12, 2011. This legislation would authorize the Attorney General or an intellectual property right owner to commence legal action against an "Internet site dedicated to infringing activities (ISDIA)." S. 968 defines an ISDIA as a site that has no significant use other than engaging in or facilitating copyright infringement. The Attorney General would be allowed to bring lawsuits against individuals who register an ISDIA domain name or own and operate an ISDIA through a domain name. This legislation has been referred to the Senate Judiciary Committee where it awaits further consideration.

Congressman Lamar Smith of Texas introduced similar legislation, H.R. 3261, the Stop Online Piracy Act, on October 26, 2011. This bill would allow the Attorney General to take legal action against foreign web sites that are violating intellectual property rights. It would also increase the penalties to protect U.S. businesses from foreign and economic espionage. H.R. 3261 has been referred to the House Judiciary Committee where it awaits further consideration.

While Congress should do everything it can to protect intellectual property from illegal infringement, it must not threaten the internet's environment of free speech and information sharing that has caused it to become an engine of innovation. Maintaining this openness can be achieved while providing security for those who want to protect their intellectual property online. Rest assured, should this legislation come before the House of Representatives, I will keep your thoughts in mind.

I wonder how strict they would be in determining if a site is an ISDIA if this bill passes. What do you guys think?

That sounds like a cool comm and all, but you really only need to post this once per secret batch.

Damn it, tinypic. Where the fuck did the secrets go? This is the first time it's happened to me, and it's ridiculously frustrating.

Dear [livejournal.com profile] fsanonies,

SHUT THE FUCKING HELL UP, YOU FUCKING SPAMMER. NO1CURR ABOUT YOUR STUPID HATE MEME.

Die In a Gamma Ray Burst,
Me

(Anonymous) 2011-11-29 06:29 am (UTC)(link)
Spamming is annoying (I only got an email notif for one reply, though), but I'm glad there's a hate meme.

[identity profile] kyuusei.livejournal.com 2011-11-29 07:53 am (UTC)(link)
This [livejournal.com profile] fsanonies shit needs to die. You'd have better luck attracting people to your comm if you didn't annoy everyone with your spam...

[identity profile] xxsomeoneelsexx.livejournal.com 2011-11-29 11:41 am (UTC)(link)
The heck is this fsanonies thing? I just woke up and some weird account replied to a comment of mine talking about how it had a hate meme and stuff, but apparently the comment's been deleted.

Is it a spammer? I mean, you can anonymously hate on people in here all you want so I don't see the point of it.

Any way to ban the Fsanonies spammer?

[identity profile] snermy.livejournal.com 2011-11-29 03:23 pm (UTC)(link)
In case the mods of Fandomsecrets have not noticed, there's an anonymous spammer lurking here, advertising their lame-ass fan-wank community [livejournal.com profile] fsanonies.

Is there any way to ban them by using their IP number?

If you need to see an example of their handiwork, check out today's secret #37, where this anon posted several times, with their little ad for their shitty little hate community. So tedious.

JSYK you can't ban IPs on LJ and I'm not even sure if IP logging is even on right now. What can be done though is techno could delete the spam comments.

I don't think spamming the comments was probably the best way to go about advertising their community though. I think they were trying to reply to people with accounts so they'd get email notifications, but posting it here in the general comments would've been better.
