Have you ever seen The Fall (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0460791/), OP? I hope not, because then you'd really have no place talking about "beautiful fantasy lands." All the locations in that movie are real places on Earth, sans CGI, though they're so fantastic you wouldn't expect it. In fact, apparently part of the reason the movie got bankrolled was to show off some of the UNESCO World Heritage sites (http://whc.unesco.org/en/254).

Don't get me wrong, I understand. One of my wishes if I ever found a genie would be for the ability to pop in and out of all the fictional worlds I love. That doesn't mean the real Earth sucks, or that a permanent life within those worlds would be perfect or even interesting. Most people in reality lead boring, repetitive lives and do not save the world. Most people in [Fantasy World] live boring, repetitive lives and do not save the world.
