To be honest? Yeah, it is.

Look, I'm not stupid. I think it looks vile, and I don't think people look good in fur. But I know that my point of view isn't the universal one here. Not everyone will agree with it, or else we wouldn't even be discussing this. Some people still have this idea that it looks elegant, classy, pretty, whatever terms they attribute to it.

I see it from a moral point of view. I can't appreciate fur knowing how its made. Watch a fox getting its fur ripped off its body while it's still alive, and then watch the poor thing try to lick its wounds. The fur used in the coat is gorgeous, but the methods are sick and horrifying.

But that's the thing. You don't like for moral reasons, and that's an entirely valid point. You find the process of making the garments taints everything about it, even its appearance. But still, it's kinda disingenuous to be all "Oh, it looks so ugly," when your objection is moral.

Even when I didn't give two fucks about animal rights, I still didn't like how it looked, lol. It always looked tacky and old-fashioned to me, something a prissy old lady would wear. Even if I was a hardcore carnivore that was okay with leather everything, I wouldn't wear fur simply because I don't like how it looks in the context of clothing.

I don't really find my comment to be disingenuous at all. Aesthetically, I don't care for fur. Morally, I abhor where it comes from.
