The comparison to Malcom X, if you understood the slightest bit of history, was the way that they completely alter the dialogue, making everyone else seem like a reasonable alternative worth discussing.
Ignoring the fact that they're remarkably effective at keeping animal rights, and vegetarianism in the public sphere, because it represents the beliefs of an otherwise silent minority.
Christ, just look at the thread here, and all the people announcing they're vegetarians or debating its moral importance, wouldn't exist without this little stunt no? And you're right, they do have numerous problems as you've highlighted, but I didn't suggest this wan't the case, which if you'd spent more time reading my post and less time getting self righteous you would have clearly picked up on.
But advertising? P. damn good at it.
