Except mutual respect/agreeing to disagree is not the way most anti-fur people act toward people who wear fur (or leather, or whatever). The attitude you say you don't understand is a reaction to the shit people get for wearing fur. You might not go up to people and say YOU FUCKING MURDERER, but other people do, and when it happens, yeah, some people are going to respond belligerently, and when it happens enough, that belligerence is going to stick. Psychology, how does it work?

I can respect that, but... well, it doesn't really excuse it. I guess it would just appreciated if people react to what I'm saying, not what they've had other vegans and/or anti-fur people say to them in the past. Nowhere in here did I call anybody a murderer or say anything snide to them until they started being an asshole first. I'm not saying that you're doing that - you're pretty civilized - but it gets old. Yeah, yeah, the V-word scares people. I know firsthand that a lot of vegans can be obnoxious and preachy. There's a reason it took me years to look into it for myself.

Me saying "nobody looks good in fur" isn't me calling people names. Moral reasons aside, it's the same thing as someone stating "leopard print is ugly as fuck" or something. It's a bluntly put opinion, but that's all it is.

People need to learn to pick their battles. I have plenty of friends that still eat meat and dairy, and because they're polite enough to respect my choices, I keep my lips sealed when they order the double bacon cheeseburger. They don't rub it in my face so I don't sit there giving them the stink eye. Mutual respect.
