I'd really love some citations (from a reputable source, not PETA's shitty website or something) confirming this whole RIPPING THE SKIN OFF WHILE THE ANIMAL IS ALIVE stuff I keep hearing

There's a documentary called Earthlings that shows footage of that among other things. (No, it's not at all sponsored by those PETA fuckers.)

This is on a Chinese fur farm, but it's FAR from being the only place where this is practice. It's a lot cheaper and quicker to rip it off an animal while it's alive than possibly dirtying the fur by "humanely" slitting its throat and letting it die before removing it.

Obviously, disturbing content.

You might dislike PETA's tactics and that's fine. But they do have moles who go into fur farms to capture footage of the suffering animals endure. So, I'm not sure why would find that video footage not credible.

The most recent story that came out about skinning animals alive for fur (to my knowledge) is this one. (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/10/04/racoons-fake-uggs_n_994973.html/) You can search around for the particular video that inspired this story. I believe the Humane Society has it available.

The person who posted above me also seems to have linked to an informative documentary, which I have not seen myself. If you really want to learn more, you're free to Google the subject for yourself.
