I liked him more before I knew anything about him. I first became aware of him in S1 of 24 and I thought he was uberhot. Seeing how he acts at cons was a little offputting. He came across as kind of a jerk irl. Amusing, but still a jerk.

Me too! I didn'tknow much of anything about him until I went to a con and I thought he came off as an obnoxious creeper. I really don't understand why people find the stuff he does so charming.

Because most of us – Misha included – don't take him seriously. I think part of the fun — again, for both the fans and Misha himself — is seeing how far he can take it and how he can top himself at each con.

Misha is no doubt out there personality-wise, and he's more than a little left of center when it comes to being quirky and original, but I don't actually think that Con!Misha is Real Life!Misha. From a few accounts I've heard from people who've met him outside of that whole setting (i.e. in everyday life), it seems like Con!Misha is a bit of an alter ego that Misha created to. Yeah, I mean, part of it IS his personality (and therein lies the whole quirky, left-of-center thing), but I think that Misha mentally took notes about what the fans expect at Cons, adapted himself to fit that mold so that, while still personal, he could keep the screaming strangers at bay to a certain degree, and then just went with it when that alter ego took on a life of its own (and, let's face it, it really, really did take on a life of its own).

All that to say that, while Misha is absolutely quirky and silly and more than a little out there, I don't think it's fair to judge him based on Conventions.

Although, actually, if we do use that measuring stick, then hell, Jensen and Jared come out looking more than a little douchey too. I love them both, but I'm just saying.
