You know, yeah. I personally was mentally cheering when Spock got the hot and smart girl because it was kind of awesome to see that happen for him for once. Played against the expected Kirk Gets The Girl thing and all, which was nice. And I'm really interested to see what their relationship does in terms of Vulcan society. Is Spock expected to rebuild? Did his wife survive? How might Uhura react to that? How might they react to her? Will it even end up going that far? If they break up, does Kirk make a move? How might that affect the work environment? Being professional on shift is one thing, but you know, what happens during downtime and all?


...And then the bitching started, and kinda quashed that excitement for me.

I mean, I'm one of those people who'll read various pairings according to my mood, but seriously, the response that happened was just uncalled for.
