Argh, way to give myself away, but yes, I'm German. I totally forgot he had a different name in the English version. But no, it doesn't translate at all, hell, the word has no German meaning what-so-ever.

Ah, thanks for the clarification; it's interesting to see how translators deal with an author borrowing another language's terms! But it's also interesting that the decision was made to transliterate Foggier/Figure Four's name while sticking with Alita for Gally (Alita's original name), which is from Viz's English translation -- apparently they felt Gally was too close to "gully" or "gall". "Gally" admittedly doesn't sound incredibly feminine, which iirc a couple of early characters comment about her name...

Woo, tangent! ...So anyway, F. Four is an awesome character and ty for making a secret about him :)
