it's okay. I just keep asking in the hopes that one day I'll truly ~get it :/

the only thing that I've ever been scared by is sleep paralysis and I find it next to impossible to convey how scary that is and that is a very real thing.

I dunno... I'm not sure it's something that can just be 'gotten', ya know? Maybe it is, though, and someone will be able to explain it to you in a way that makes sense. ♥

Oh, yeah, I agree- that's terrifying. I think the scariest thing for me was last year I worked at a camp in the woods. We had actual bears in the woods. I would have to walk by myself around camp at night with the bears in the woods. Yep.

that sounds intense! not a reality I've ever faced so its impact is lessened somewhat but I find it easier to appreciate why you would be scared over it versus somebody who gets scared watching oh idk Paranormal Activity (which btw didn't even make me jump).

I dunno, I've never actually seen a horror movie in my life. Maybe that's part of why I jump so much at real life? I haven't had time to "get used" to the scariness that's in horror? IDK. ^_^

ahh you're missing out! a lot of films today are shitty in your face gore which makes them more disgusting than anything else, but there are some great ones out there.

2 of my favourite films when I was younger were Alien and Aliens, so being exposed to ~scary things~ from a young age has probably shaped how I am today.

doesn't explain why I wasn't scared back then though :s

"Aliens" is horror? I thought it was suspense... I wasn't really scared at that one... I was more scared when I was getting this is so cool sucked into the movie and then my Da was like "RAAAAAR" and tapping me and I was like "HOLY SHIT DAD I'M TRYING TO ENJOY A MOVIE"...

But, yeah, I have some friends who are insisting that we're going to have horror movie nights next term, in our dorm, but this last term we just never had time. :/

Yes! Though it might have to wait until after January 8th, as that's when I move back into my dorm, and am doing the horror movie watch-alongs with my rommate... Unless I can convince some of my friends in RL to do it too... I just don't want to be physically alone.
