Which brings up the question...does he even have genitals? Or consider himself a certain gender? Hell, does he even consider himself human while in a human form?

It certainly looks like he has genitals. There's an obvious bulge between his legs. (http://www.zeldadungeon.net/Zelda14/Characters/Ghirahim-Screen-Large.jpg) But, uh. I don't think he considers himself human, seeing as he constantly insults the human race. :/ Although he could easily call himself "Lady Ghirahim", I guess -- but he doesn't! Not to mention he seems to absolutely adore his true form (http://www.videogameszone.de/screenshots/667x375/2011/11/Zelda_Skyward_Sword_Tempel_7_Loesung__7__111129140535.jpg) ... which kind of completely defeats secret!OP's theory.

His true form, though I probably wouldn't call it "macho", is pretty masculine compared to the one he normally takes.

Eh, good for you I guess. Personally I don't think gender identity has any real relevance to his character at all, especially once he reveals his true form. Either way, Ghirahim was a fantastic villain.

Which way? I mean, last I knew (and I could be wrong) trans meant born one gender but identifying as the other. So you mean she's born/sworded/whatever male but wants to be female or the other way around? How does that work if the character isn't even really human?

Yeah I kinda doubt that because for one thing, he's a demon and who knows how the hell they function, so thinking of him in terms of human gender identification is silly. Secondly he's a sword, as several people have already pointed out.

Lastly even if he was a human I would just consider him to be flamboyant, not transsexual. I don't consider his outfit to be feminine just because it's skin-tight, and there's nothing else about him that would make me believe that there's any sort of gender confusion with him.

This miiiight just me being weird/ignorant, but if you were a MTF trangendered person...why would you want to emphasize your very clearly masculine chest by cutting out a hole right over it?

Unless OP thinks said character is a FtM transgendered person, in which case wanting to show off one's newly masculine chest is not that unbelievable.

Sadly, I can't help but think the OP thinks Girahim is MtF for the sole reason that he is pretty and effeminate. >_>

The character is the living embodiment of a sword, basically. There's another character, Fi, like it in the same game (his counterpart) who looks quite a bit like his true form, and the producer of the game has said that Fi is genderless but has a feminine form. It's basically implied that Ghirahim (the character in the secret) has the same deal, only with a masculine form (and maybe identity - he refers to himself as 'Lord Ghirahim' and for all intents and purposes presents as male).

Unless the trans part is that Ghirahim is effectively sexless but has a male gender identity and presentation, I'm really not sure what the OP is getting at *shrug*

To, um, play devil's advocate - perhaps the OP is using 'trans' here as transgender, not transsexual? Which can also include things like genderqueer, agender, basically other gender identities. But honestly, the only way I can see this working is if Ghirahim started out physically androgynous and deliberately chose a male gender identity and presentation (and... maybe anatomy? Hylia knows how all that works!).

But really. Sword. Not sure how you'd go about working out Ghirahim's sex or gender there, and we don't know how much of his presentation is choice.

I actually beat the Fire Sanctuary again this afternoon and noticed when Ghirahim confronts you he refers to himself as "a busy boy". So I guess he has some personal thoughts on what his own gender is or maybe what he chose to be like in that form if he had a choice but...still...just attempting to get my head around how a living sword works like that is a tough one. 0_o

So I'm just sticking with; sword.
