What is this and why is it so arousing?

It is a show about a man named Ryan (Elijah Wood), who gets roped into babysitting this girl's dog, Wilfred. Ryan suffers from some mental disorder and has localized hallucinations in which Wilfred is a sarcastic, pot-smoking man in a dog suit. It's pretty funny, but it's also really dark.

Really?! Crap, and here the ads had me thinking that it was really a guy in a dog suit and I kept going "do not want do not want" every time I heard of the show.

Well, there's also plenty of "Or is it?" in that description. Like that one guy who also sees Wilfred. There's a legitimate question in the show as to whether Ryan is hallucinating or if he's somehow the only one seeing the truth about Wilfred.

It's actually frightening, he looks like melting plastic.

It looks terrible because they shopped out the natural shadows in the whites of his eyes. Now they look flat, and so bright white they could glow in the dark.

I don't know why so many photo manip people think they need to get rid of eye shadows...

I see ads for this show on the train to work all the time. On those days where I feel unreasonably lonely (or jus special snowflakey) in a crowded car, I look up at the poster and think to myself, "someone out there, another child of fandom, must be looking at the same Wilson ad as me and thinking about all the slash potential." And I feel warm knowing this.

This show looks terrible, but I think I'm going to end up watching it hrrrrm.

The whole concept really kind of creeped me out. A guy in a dog suit having his belly rubbed by some baby-talking woman while the 'dog' sniffs her crotch or whatever. Just...ack. DNW.

It helps to imagine Wilfred as an actual dog when stuff like that comes up. (or... it does for me at least)

I just...can't. The guy in the suit is *so big* and intrusive and, since i only saw previews and bits of one episode, if there's a 'dog' dog version of him, i never saw it.

Kinda like Dollhouse - you lost me at conception.
