This is me to a T! For years whenever I heard "Fastlove" by George Michael, I imagined it taking place in a nightclub setting. However, when I decided to finally see the actual video for the first time, this is what I saw:



I prefer the version in my head over the real one.

I just can't ever watch music videos. It's too weird to feel like the artist/director is doing it wrong.

I do the same thing, even going as far as to write it all down in some cases. I can see it so clearly in my head. And like the above person, it made me realize I have a desire to direct.

It's been awhile since I've watched MTV, but it seems like music videos aren't as creative as they used to be these days.
(I hate it when a good song is tied into a movie soundtrack, and the music video is just a lazy collection of clips from that movie.)

I once heard that the artists have to pay for their own videos, so I understand when budget is sometimes limited and a more minimal approach is taken. Sometimes the simplicity works. But it's often boring.
