I agree with the first part of this, but...I'm confuzzled here. I might be reading this wrong, but you say that some pairing isn't canon so people shouldn't get upset when others don't ship it, which is good and I agree ( although spread that to all pairings, canon or not.) Then you say it bothers you that people ignore this other shipping-related thing that is also not canon.

Did you just contradict yourself? Or have I been staring at a computer too long, and am imagining things?

Well, in one character line, they mention the Medics wife, and I always thought it was cute to think he's married. It's sort of canon, but not entirely proven, as the character who mentioned it is usually drunk. It doesn't bother me, I just miss all the cute art of Medic and his wife. Now it seems like the only time anyone wants to ship him, it's with the Heavy and if you don't want to ship him with the Heavy, you're suddenly a homophobic weightist, and that bothers me because I think everyone should be allowed to ship whomever they want without other people being rude to them over it.

Or art of Medic with anyone else other than Heavy for that matter (or art of Heavy with anyone else other than Medic).

I am so sick of all the Heavy/Medic are.

Want to know the sad part too? I have a few fandom friends who actually draw other pairing art of those two, but they have told me they are AFRAID to upload it anywhere since they have seen how people react to art that isn't Heavy/Medic.

yeah, I think actually getting angry at people for not shipping something is silly, but I can understand being a little disappointed if, say, not many people ship your favorite pairing and you have no one to squee with. it can be lonely!

Yeah; I totally get disappointed, especially if you're looking for fic/fandom of your pairing and it's just not there (currently shipping a rare pairing for my current fandom, so I totally sympathize). But angry seems like kind of an extreme reaction.

You must know few people. The fans pull the homophobic-weeaboo-weightist shit even on people who ship Heavy or Medic with with other males.

Even if you ship Heavy (or Medic) with another male character, the Heavy/Medic shippers will point their fingers at you just to get people to hate you.

Eh, if you don't ship it, you don't ship it. And it is my headcanon that Medic's wife is scarier than he is and has her own laboratory where she creates horrible mutant creatures. And is a terrible cook.

For me... Medic's wife is the magician that Soldier is roomates with. Why is she an ageless man? Simple. SHE IS A MAGICIAN.

This isn't anything new in the TF2 fandom. The fandom will defend it's sacred cow to the death and will go through insane lengths to do it (and they have).

There was a huge blowup on Tumblr not too long ago about this. It was ridiculous. An askHeavy blog reblogged a picture of a crackship (Medic/Pauling) and the corresponding askMedic blog's owner just lost it, and not ICly either. It was really gross and embarrassing to watch. Like... guys. Chill the hell out, it's just a picture.

Anybody who actually thinks about it realizes that the only relationship heavy is in is an OT3: Heavy/Sasha/Natasha.
