For some reason I really hate seeing 'anyways' myself as a word in writing too OP- mostly in text rather than dialogue, but for some reason I don't like it in dialogue either (even though there as pointed out it makes sense, even though anyway is equally valid too). Don't know why it grates on me so much (I'm not exactly as bugged about some other things after all that drives other people up the wall- like accents written as they sound). It's just the way it sounds in my head I guess as I read it. It just really bugs me.

(Weird thing to get bugged over though I know.)

I think "anyways" may be a regionalism, but even though I try to be accepting of regionalisms, I have irrational hate for this one myself.

The writers of SGA had numerous (possibly all) characters use this nonstandard variant, regardless of their home countries/regions and dialects. This makes me twitch.
