I'm not grossed out by pregnancy really but I do find it rather terrifying. It doesn't help that one of my friends is currently pregnant and reading her comments on facebook is freaking me out. Like when she complains about not being able to breathe that well (apparently the fetus growing inside of you puts pressure on your thoracic diaphragm), getting colds and not being able to take a lot of commonly used medications for it, not being able to sleep in any position other than on her side, etc. I always knew pregnancy was a pain in the ass but she makes it sound more like a disease, frankly

Everyone's pregnancy is different, like everything else in life. Some people have morning sickness their entire pregnancy, aches, pains, constant discomfort, etc etc... while others sail through it with flying colors and hardly a complaint. So I would take your friend's experience to be just that - your friend's experience.

See, my rational brain realizes this, but I'm still afraid of being pregnant. I'm just convinced my experience would be horrible.

Don't worry, like I said, I don't think pregnancy is gross and I'm not knocking it or anything, it's fine if other people want to have kids, it's just something that scares me personally

Yeah, I was just going to say this. Successive pregnancies can even vary for the same woman in terms of discomfort.

For me, it's the idea of having another vaguely human-shaped creature feeding off of me that I must one day violently expel. And the knowledge that since I'm not attracted to men and I don't want kids of my own, there's only one way that pregnancy possibly happen to me >_>;;
