He's probably heard things about it, but hasn't actually sat and read/watched them. There are lots of things I haven't actually seen/read, but I still know things about it just from what friends have said or I've seen online. Those things are probably why I decide to give it a look in the first place. It's pretty difficult to completely isolate yourself from things with huge followings, especially online.

I haven't read a lot of the things he has listed, but I could probably tell someone what each one is about. /shrugs
