(Anonymous) 2011-12-19 05:43 am (UTC)(link)For the record, I'm not offended by what you're saying, I just find it exceedingly amusing when people (especially anons on the Internet) try to tell others that they are 'superior' over them. I mean, I could tell you my IQ is 135 and that I could probably run intellectual circles around you, therefore I would be superior, but for one, how do I prove that without compromising my anonymity, and for two, how would that actually make me your superior?

(Anonymous) 2011-12-20 05:36 am (UTC)(link)The difficulty of quantifying intelligence in an unbiased manner is pretty much what I meant when I asked "how would [a higher IQ] make me superior?" in my original comment. I mean, on paper, I could have a higher IQ than someone else and yet fail to understand something that they think is a simple concept. In an abstract way, this can be applied to the anon I replied to and whether they can be considered superior to someone else simply due to a like or dislike of something.
