It's like a song that's played over and over again to the point where you want to rip your eardrums out every time you hear it. It's overused and in so many cases is used inappropriately like... for a bake sale for an elementary school? Okay, I get you using it. Using it for a spreadsheet at your job in a Budget/Finance office (my moms coworkers did this)? No, just no.

And they used it for a spreadsheet at an office, really? ew ew ew. I don't mind comic sans in situations like you mentioned, but comic sans is up there as a pretty unprofessional font choice.

Yep, they did. They've since stopped but they used to put everything in comic sans -- memos, spreadsheets, emails to the dean of their college (my mom works for a university).

I could have written OP's secret - in fact, I almost have with those exact words - but I do see what you mean, at least partially. I totally get that it's completely unprofessional and should never be used in, like, official documents. Times New Roman or Arial or one of those kinds of fonts should be used. I think as far as finding it over-used, I dunno, I've been reading tons of things in the aforementioned two fonts for years and just haven't noticed. They are invisible fonts. Is the problem with Comic Sans that it stands out a bit too much and isn't invisible?

Still, I find it baffling that things like webcomics or fandom secrets are roasted over an open flame for using Comic Sans because I still think it's totally appropriate usage. I think it's unreasonable to expect everyone to care about fonts and to have fancy, slightly-different non-comic sans comic fonts because of snobbery or whatever.

Well, I find it aesthetically ugly but I've gotten over my former hatred of the font. I still don't like it but I can see that other people don't really see it the same way as I do so... Yeah, I only get annoyed by unprofessional/inappropriate usages of it now and fandomsecrets doesn't fall under that category.
