Yes Watson they can, the NHS covers psychiatric in-care, out-patient counselling, and a variety of different care needs in the mental health field. This country has great mental health care options. There is always room for improvement of course, but on the whole it's pretty easy and stress free. Its not like we're some shitty third world wannabe where people are forced to choose between eating or good health. That'd be a nasty and evil place to live.

Also "no shit, Sherlock" is an old comeback everybody uses here. It's like saying "thank you, Captain Obvious". It's meant to be sarcastic, to point out that someone said something obvious (in this case "maybe you should look into getting some serious help")

Errr, I waited nearly two years for talking therapy on the NHS, because they don't have funding to hire more people in the mental health unit, because in all the targets people complain about, there are literally only like two targets that speak to mental health services. If you get judged by your targets, why would you spend precious resources on something that doesn't meet them? But yeah, if it's just the drugs you want, or even low level counselling for mostly-functioning people who need a couple of sessions, that's easily available. In depth CBT for a non-dangerous person who cannot function properly due to issues that need therapy? You have to wait for 29 other people to be 'cured' first.
