I'm like 99% sure this is about my sister's band. Small, steampunk band, based in Oxford, called the Mechanisms (http://themechanisms.wordpress.com/). They do a lot of multilingual stuff (my sister and her girlfriend are Japanese students, and also, well, it's Oxford) - some Russian, some Japanese, and I think some Latin and French have been detected on top of the English.

They are! I've never actually seen them live (I am a bad sister) because they perform in Oxford and sometimes London, while I live with the parents up north and have no means of travelling down, but the tracks I've heard are awesome and my other sister's given me great reports of their gigs.

I'm listening to some of their tracks now and I really like what I hear! They really have a LOT of promise! I'm actually going to be spending a semester in London, so I'm going to keep an eye out for gigs, because I'm liking what I'm hearing. :)

Most of their gigs are obviously in Oxford, because that's where they study, but I'm sure you'll catch at least one. :p

Their last and I think only London gig was a one-off private function, because the venues they have connections to are Oxford, but since Ashes and Jonny live in London they might be persuaded to perform there if they had an audience (hint hint)

Plus, Oxford is only about 45 minutes from London on the bus, or less on the train. You could TOTALLY head up for a gig 8D

(but Ivy and Nastya will be in Japan in the academic year 2012-13, so idk what'll be happening then)

We've done three gigs in London so far, and we're looking for more now some of our members are living there. If you're coming next academic year I don't know how much we'll be playing (and I won't be at all, since I'm one of the two people who'll probably be in Japan for most of the year), but I hope you get to see us :)
