I'd be more convinced by this argument if Glee had ever shown me prior to this episode that Finn "gets everything handed to him just for showing up" Hudson ever took a dent from Santana's verbal blows at all. Fuck, if it had been nearly any other character, I'd be more on board.

But Glee has a massive history of Finn getting away with his bullshit. A massive history of Finn's unchecked privilege going unexamined. A massive history of denying female characters agency. And a massive history of Boys Are Great; Girls Are Bitches.

As this thread grows, the probability of somebody obnoxiously snarking "it's only bad if it happens to a gay character" approaches 1. But you know what? Glee should take more flak for fucking up LGBT storylines. It gets all the props for being queer friendly. Yet I Kissed A Girl was so badly mishandled as to be downright dangerous to any kids who take it for their script on how to process dealing with a gay friend.
