I remember watching that when it aired. I was 12 and it didn't make an impression on me. Just another disaster movie. These days the very thought makes me stressed!

And I liked Lithgow ever since I saw him in The World According to Garp.

It came out when I was eight, but thankfully my mother had the sense not to let me watch it. I actually saw it when I was 14 and my physics teacher made us watch it in class, and even then it just made me a wreck for almost a year.

I still can't figure out why she made a class requirement out of that movie in PHYSICS. It's not like the movie discusses the hard science behind anything and I'd think that type of message would be more suited to a poly-sci class. Oh well. I still blame her for not getting a good night's sleep for nearly six months that year, though. XD

Teachers teach you what they think you need to learn. My music teacher lectured us, a captive audience of ten year olds, on the evils of abortion, Democrats, and vegetarianism every day. I didn't learn a lick of music but I learned all about him, the nutball.

I'm sorry you were traumatized, by the way, I was messed up by The Exorcist for the longest time!
