Unless Anne McCaffrey was a family member or a friend, it's not *incumbent* upon you to feel anything when she died. So, you had a semi-selfish thought - so what? Not like you're out stomping on kittens or something.

And i agree with the above - her being alive did *not* mean you couldn't get your own dragon stories published.
