I spent six years in the city where it was filmed. It was trippy watching MY downtown blow up (not mention being all "It's Wescoe! I've stood RIGHT THERE in between classes!" for at least two of Lithgow's scenes.

That's...kinda epic and awesome, actually. I kind of want to visit and see what's changed from the film until now around those parts. Interesting bit of trivia from the film, too: The flying ash in all the right-after-the-bombing scenes was made by painting cornflakes white and blowing them around with a big fan.
