But I think Nero in Devil May Cry 4 or Zevran in Dragon Age make nice candidates as eye candy, although they're still mostly dressed. And honestly, I don't even know what still counts as a "twink" these days. Opinions seems to differ on that.

This is very true. I felt it even more when I worked for a bunch of gaming companies and realized even their hiring practices were geared towards making sure there no diversity broke their "precious" status quo.

Uh, do you work in the gaming industry? Because I do, and the guys I work with are a billion times nicer and more accepting than any other woman I've ever met. They treat me the same as they treat everyone else in our office, my gender has nothing to do with it.

No, but I have heard things and read articles from other people who have worked in the industry, plus I had a female friend drop out of the game design major for the animation major at my school because of misogynist attitudes.

Probably because straight males are the target audience. I'm sure that demographic makes them more money than anyone else, and by enough of a margin that they don't want to risk alienating them.

....yeah only Japanese games lay on the male nudity. They don't have the perception that "games are for boys" there so there's more variety and girl-targeted games.

I can think of some American games that are rather homoerotic (Army of Two, Bully). Dragon Age has some nice man-steak in it (hello Zevran), and some games like DA and Fable where you can strip your protags naked are horribly fun :P. And if you like 'em bear-like, well, Kratos never wears much clothing! But lack of twinks, yeah. American gaming is so obsessed with hyper-masculinity.
